"Ranunculi on a Hillside" - my first Award Winning
piece of Photographic Digital Artwork
We often refer to our memories, visually, as snapshots, don't we? Certain mental images seem to stay always present to us, so at the least recall of a distant detail one or many of those mental snapshots come to mind again. There are photographs that I have seen which have captured my imagination as much for what a photographer could do as well as for the image that resulted from those moments. Ansel Adams once said, "You don't take a photograph, you make it."
That quote not only inspired me to become a better photographer but it planted the seed for taking the creative edge one step further for me in recent years. Why stop with the photograph I've made? If the art at the heart of it is there, I want to see what transformation it might hold. Every piece of my artwork begins with an original photo I've taken. I manipulate each image using any number of photographic or artistic related software applications on my iPhone, iPad and/or computer (or any combination of these digital devices' apps). I have become more and more convinced of the artistic relevance of photographic digital art in our lives today, thus fueling a passion to create imagery beyond that taken with a shutter's click.
I have had my photography used in commercial marketing materials since 2006. My artwork has been selected for 2 different international artists' digital exhibitions in 2013 and again in 2015. In 2014 some of my photographic digital artwork was purchased as part of a permanent collection in a local hospital's expansion. In July-August 2016, I was selected as one of 8 artists in a Group Exhibition at a local art center. After placing 2nd in my first juried art show in 2013, and other award placements since, I am proud to say that I am an Award Winning Artist for my photographic digital artwork.
I have continued to channel my artistic vision toward developing a particular photo digital artistic styling over the last two years, especially, to what you will discover on this site. This is a completely redesigned, fresh start for my online web address for any of you who may have been familiar with much of my prior online offerings. There may come a time when I offer many of the prior works again...yet, this is an exciting time for a fresh start. And I am ready!
I am a Woman With A Camera wherever I go. Thank you for visiting my site. I hope you enjoy the Art!
