So excited to be part of my first public art exhibit this week! I chose to submit three different images of mine, all originally photographs, on which I have used different artistic post-processing styles. I was pleasantly surprised that all three were accepted. Artists were invited to submit work in 2D and 3D artistic styles - with certain limits on size - and with the categories of Floral or Landscape.
I felt it was time to step up in my personal growth as a photographic artist and take the challenge of entering Art Exhibits. If I'm going to go public with my creative efforts, I thought it was time to challenge myself with having others "judge" my work resulting possibly in rejecting my entries. There will be other exhibits I hope to enter some pieces in, in the near future, but this was a great first time and I'm pleasantly surprised that all 3 entries were accepted.
An Artists Reception is being held on Thursday, May 9th, from 2 - 4 pm, so if any of you who read this are in the local area, please feel free to stop in at Lakewold Gardens, in Lakewood. I hope to be there much of that time and would love to see some familiar faces!
There's always a first time for everything. And I so grateful I took the risk for this one! Yay!
