I believe every opportunity to display one's work publicly has the potential to have folks talking about or remembering that art. For someone to purchase a piece of art is always a confirmation of the creative effort. Both things happened for me this weekend.
A local Starbucks invited me to post some of my work for public display on their "community wall" for this month. Yesterday, my husband and I put up six pieces of my iPhoneography work, images I took last year on a visit to France. Today I discovered I sold a small piece of art I had listed with a different website. Both are wonderful affirmations for me that all the effort and risk are worth taking.
Posted here is a quick shot I took of the display that we put up yesterday. I hope to rotate this group out for a different series of images in about two weeks, so that more of my pieces can be seen. I am just so appreciative of our local Starbucks who offer artists such opportunities. But such art can't be seen if we only get our lattes by using the Drive-Thru!!
